20 Things You Didn't Know About The Terminator
6. Leather Wasn’t Manly Enough For Schwarzenegger
No one can forget the image of the T-800 riding on a motorcycle, complete with sunglasses and a badass leather jacket. It is one of the Terminator’s most iconic looks, so iconic, that it became his default attire in later entries.
Initially, however, these scenes had to be delayed because Schwarzenegger didn’t think the leather jacket the costume department gave him was manly enough. Because of this, shooting had to be pushed a few days while they designed a new, more manly leather jacket for Schwarzenegger.
The one we see in the final film is the one that Schwarzenegger eventually approved of. It certainly is manly.
