The huge battle between the Avengers and their friends in Germany brought many superheroes together, not all on the same side, and some that had never interacted with each other before. Naturally, as this was Peter Parker’s MCU debut, he had never shared the screen with any of them.

His highlights of the movie were with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, but he also managed to kick both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes’ ass without even trying. There was a moment at the start of the fight, however, that could have made all the difference.

Bucky swung for Spider-Man, which to him would have just been at the time a weirdo in a spandex suit, but his fist was caught. Peter remarked on how awesome Bucky’s metal arm was, before being taken away by Sam. Throughout the whole interaction, while Peter was holding Bucky’s left arm, his right was completely free.

If he had the mind to, Bucky could have taken the free shot he had at Spider-Man’s head, but he froze. This could have been because when he heard Peter’s voice, he realised that he was just a kid, and who would knowingly deliver a devastating haymaker to a kid?
