20 Things You Somehow Missed In Never Say Never Again

13. "Thanks A.K."

In the closing credits to the film, it thanks "A.K.".

This was not an oblique reference to some obscure figure such as M or Q, but rather a subtle acknowledgement of the assistance provided by Saudi billionaire, Adnan Khashoggi.

Khashoggi had owned Largo's ship, The Flying Saucer (a.k.a. Disco Volante) and permitted the production to film onboard. At that time, the superyacht was known as the Nabila, but Khashoggi later sold it to the Sultan of Brunei in 1988. It was later acquired by Donald Trump, who refitted the vessel and renamed her Trump Princess, before selling it to another Saudi businessman, Al-Waleed bin Talal. It is now known as Kingdom 5KR.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
