What could be a better environmentally friendly house than a cottage built into the countryside, based on the jolly rustic home of one Bilbo Baggins? Welsh eco-warrior Simon Dale built it himself, along with his father-in-law, and now he lives there with his wife and two little sons, with the idea being that it's a low-impact woodland home. Plus it totally looks like Hobbiton, which is magical and amazing, so long as you don't invite any dwarves and wizards around for dinner.
