15. Where Is Mister Sinister? - Logan

The Question: Where exactly is Nathaniel Essex, aka Mister Sinister, and how does he fit into the events of Logan?

The Likely Answer: It's heavily implied that Xander Rice's (Richard E. Grant) company Alkali-Transigen obtained Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) DNA samples from Essex Corp, which first showed up in X-Men: Apocalypse's post-credits scene.

It's also been speculated by fans that Alkali-Transigen might be a subsidiary of Essex Corp, and so it would make sense that Mister Sinister would've been watching Rice's work incredibly closely.

While Logan doesn't make any direct references to Mister Sinister, it's easy to accept that he's waiting in the wings somewhere, and with Laura (Dafne Keen) now on the run, he could very well re-emerge to chase her down in her own planned follow-up film.

Apparently the villain was kept out of Logan for fear of upending the film's "grounded" tone, but considering that it features Logan fighting a clone of himself, he probably wouldn't have felt too out of place.

Whether we'll actually get to see Mister Sinister on-screen any time soon remains to be seen, but he's definitely out there...somewhere.
