Release Date: July 17 Why It Could Beat Fury Road: Ant-Man is certain to stand on its own this summer as a true original, given that no other major blockbuster will be featuring a superhero who can shrink himself down to a miniscule size and command an army of ants. As the trailers have already shown off so far, with that hilarious Thomas the Tank Engine aside in particular, the movie's action is going to be highly unique and on a totally different scale to anything else seen this year or in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus, there's always the hope that Ant-Man will show his 50-foot form at the end, transforming the film into an epic monster movie for a brief time, but Marvel might be saving that whole bag of tricks for Avengers: Infinity War. How Likely Is It?: 5/10. The goofy allure could be golden here, though there are a few obvious pitfalls: even Marvel's best movies don't have the greatest cinematography, it won't boast the R-rated thrills of Mad Max, and the action won't be anywhere near as sustained (though that will likely be an issue for most films on this list...)
