20 Upcoming Movie Sequels That Need To End Their Franchises

5. Indiana Jones 5

The Franchise: Arguably the most iconic action adventure series of all time, starring Harrison Ford as the title character, who steals precious ancient artifacts, hooks up with beautiful women and raids the box office too ($1.98 billion worldwide after four movies). Sequel Status: Though Harrison Ford's commitment to at least two more Star Wars movies will keep him busy for a while, another Indy outing is actively being sought by Disney whenever the legendary actor can slot it into its schedule (and the same goes for director Steven Spielberg, of course). Why It Needs To Be The Last One: The fourth film rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way, so this one really needs to be an apology of sorts for that. Ditch Shia LaBeouf, and stick closer to the tone of the earlier movies while relying less on CGI and more on practical effects. Also, if it doesn't get made until at least 2019 (when shooting on Star Wars Episode IX will be complete), Harrison Ford will be 77 years old, which is obviously pretty damn ridiculous for an action hero protagonist, as good shape as he keeps himself in. How Likely Is It?: It's immensely unlikely fans Ford will get more than one opportunity to reprise his Indy role, either due to his schedule, the physical demands of the role or the fact that, sad as it is, Harrison's getting old! 9/10.
