20 Upcoming Movies That Are Going To Rock

4. Inherent Vice

Why It's Going To Rock: C'mon! A new Paul Thomas Anderson film means only one thing: another masterpiece. His first film since the highly controversial and divisive The Master back in 2012, Inherent Vice - based on a novel by Thomas Pynchon - stars Joaquin Phoenix (yep, he's back again) as a private investigator called Larry "Doc" Sportello, who sets out to find out what happened to his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend when he goes missing in Los Angeles. Sounds interesting. We already know, then, that what we're going to get will be a wholly unique filmic experience - one made more intriguing by some of the details we've glimpsed about the project so far (which includes what looks to be one of the insane tracking shots ever committed to film). As if the idea of Anderson and Phoenix re-teaming once more wasn't enough, we'll also let you know that this thing stars Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson and - yay - Benicio Del Toro.
