10. Ike Barinholtz - Elon Musk (Artificial)
Luca Guadagnino's next film Artificial is based on the brief dismissal of Sam Altman as the CEO of OpenAI.
Andrew Garfield will star as Altman, but the most fascinating sliver of casting is that Elon Musk will be played by none other than Ike Barinholtz.
Barinholtz is a talented actor and comedian who is riding a career high off his recent work on The Studio, though playing a figure as public and well-known as Musk represents a whole other challenge.
On paper Barinholtz might not seem like the most natural fit, but his penchant for playing detestable idiots is well-noted at this point, which should hold him in good stead here.
More to the point, given that Guadagnino's film is said to be a comedic drama with little sympathy for its focal subjects, it'll likely be less reliant on Barinholtz giving a note-perfect approximation of Musk than capturing his overall unpleasant vibes.
A bold casting choice for sure, but it should give Barinholtz plenty to work with.
