20 War Movies EVERY Film Fan Should Have Seen
8. The Hurt Locker
It wouldn't be a list of great war films without at least a little shameless propaganda, would it?
Although Point Break director Kathryn Bigelow's later Zero Dark Thirty is more infamously jingoistic (taking funding from the Pentagon will do that to a film), 2009's Oscar winner The Hurt Locker is nonetheless another Iraq war film wherein the viewer follows heroic US soldiers through the war torn nation and is expected to side with the aggrieved aggressors.
That said, talent is hard to argue with, and Bigelow's film is as tense and intense as war cinema gets, an exhilarating thrill ride so captivating you might well forget who started the war in the first place.
