20 Worst Movies Of 2022

6. Halloween Ends

Halloween Ends Michael
Universal

It's ironic how one of 2022's worst horror films happens to be from the same franchise that pioneered the slasher genre in the first place.

Being the last instalment in a movie saga spanning 45 years, Halloween Ends was meant to be the end of an era. After all this time, we would see the showdown between Laurie Strode and the masked serial killer, Michael Myers.

There was just one problem. Michael is barely in the movie. Instead, the story focuses on a babysitter, Corey Cunningham, who gradually morphs into The New Michael Myers after he accidentally killed a child. Michael appears so infrequently, you genuinely forget he's in it.

On top of that, Laurie Strode's character arc doesn't make sense. For some reason, she abandons her crusade against Michael, despite the fact he murdered her daughter in the previous instalment. Laurie also decides to write a book about her tormentor, emphasising how the citizens of Haddonfield will eventually forget he existed... But how can they forget about Michael if she's writing about his killing sprees?

Even though Halloween Kills set the bar very low, it feels like Halloween Ends went out of its way to ensure it was as disappointing as possible.
