20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Might Surprise You
3. Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble
The Twisted Childhood Universe is truly one of the strangest cinematic enterprises right now - a franchise of slasher films based on iconic children's characters who've recently entered the public domain, namely Winnie-the-Pooh, Peter Pan, and Bambi.
This is all building towards an Avengers-styled event film, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, in which the murderous iterations of Pooh, Pan, Bambi, and so on team up to take down their respective remaining survivors.
The film will also include the likes of Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Mary Poppins (!), Tintin, because why the heck not?
And while there's every possibility that Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is a giant, unwieldy mess, considering the series' modest uptick in quality since the original Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, could it not actually turn out surprisingly fun?
If you're able to forgive the underlying cynicism of this entire endeavour, it does at least seem like the filmmakers are trying to be creative with their limited budgets, which will hopefully ensure that, if nothing else, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is anything but boring.
