After all, the series flamed out spectacularly with 2013's terrible Scary Movie 5, content creators on social media have arguably made the spoof genre feel mostly irrelevant, and theatrically-released comedies are generally in a tough spot right now.
It was easy to be skeptical about the prospect of a new Scary Movie feeling relevant in 2026, but that pretty much changed overnight with the recent release of the first trailer.
