Among the several tantalising casting choices in Star Wars: Starfighter, the most intriguing of all must surely be Mia Goth, who will apparently be portraying the film's villain.

We don't know Goth's character's name or the wider nature of her motivations, but reports suggest she's pursuing a Force-sensitive child (Flynn Gray) which brings her into conflict with Ryan Gosling's protagonist.

We know that the villain role was originally offered to Anora's Mikey Madison - who passed on the film due to an alleged salary disagreement - yet considering Goth's extensive experience portraying deeply unhinged femme fatales, she can surely bring the same gloriously off-the-wall flavour to a Star Wars antagonist.

Again, we know virtually nothing about the character, but Goth is definitely a compellingly unexpected casting choice to join the Star Wars universe, albeit one which could result in one of the series' more interesting villains in recent times.
