21 Best Films Of The 21st Century By Genre
10. Animation - Wall-E
With the rise of quality animations continuing to rise throughout the 21st century, it is almost impossible to pick just one film for top spot here. An extended opening sequence in which the Waste disposal unit known as WALL-E has his life turned upside down by the arrival of the explosive robot EVE is utterly captivating. The introduction of the last remaining humans comes at exactly the right time, as does the reveal of a sinister plot to keep Earth unoccupied. There is also great commentary on our modern day lives and the environment that is thought provoking while never feeling too preachy.
