Yes, it's corny as hell and all but rips off (I mean pay homage) to classic musical moments of yesteryear, but boy oh boy is this a hell of a good time- well until the finale anyway. This 2016 Best Picture winner until it wasn't, lead us all for a trip down memory lane. The finale may bring us back to reality but that doesn't undo the good time we've had.

The film begins with a brief traffic jam sequence befitting of our times before launching into an extravagant song and dance number that is just the perfect response for the situation. We are then introduced to our loving couple to be, struggling Jazz musician Sebastien and aspiring actress Mia. The song and dance sequences are all beautifully choreographed, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling bringing real charisma and energy to the screen. Any weaknesses the two may have in the singing and dancing department are more than compensated for by a great script and their genuine chemistry.
