21 Greatest Batman Movie Easter Eggs

7. Bob Kane's "Cameos" - Batman

As is only proper, Batman's creator has a number of appearances in the early Batman films, though he didn't actually cameo in person as planned in the first movie. He was cast as Bob the cartoonist, who is responsible for the "Batman" cartoon above (which carries his signature) that the reporters use to tease Knox. He was supposed to hand it over to Knox, but became ill and wasn't able to appear. In Burton's sequel, the same effect was created, as the note given to Penguin by the monkey (which took a lot of training as the monkey was terrified of Danny Devito's appearance) from Batman is the creator's own handwriting. Though he wasn't given an on-screen role, his widow Elizabeth Sanders appeared in both Batman Forever and Batman & Robin as Gossip Gerty.
