As Fry's overlong monologue finally comes to an end, he segues into namedropping Matt Damon and The Martian, which he refers to as a "fantastic science-fiction, award-winning...comedy", quite clearly mocking its peculiar placement as such in last month's Golden Globes ceremony. He got a hearty laugh from the audience, as everyone silently agrees that the BAFTAs are a little more "legitimate" than the Globes, at least as far as pointless, back-slapping awards ceremonies for ridiculously rich people go.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
