24 Hottest Stephen King Films Currently In Development

4. Pet Sematary

Release: TBC Status: Resurrected Twenty five years after King's tale of zombie cats, Achilles Tendon-cutting demon children and Native American burial grounds, another mooted remake is apparently in the works. Whether it ever actually releases is anyone's guess. It was first announced in 2004, with Guillermo Del Toro expressing an interest in 2010. A script was turned in by David Kajganich, but writing duties then went to Matthew Greenberg. Where it's at now is unclear, but Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was the latest name attached to direct. Prospects: Quite why nobody has remade this before now is baffling, but then the original was always protected by nostalgia and that teeth-jarringly creepy performance Miko Hughes as the risen dead. The production teams experience of Transformers and Paranormal Activity sadly won't fill anyone with confidence though, and more than 10 years in development tells its own story.
