Plot: Blu, Jewel, and their three kids journey into the Amazon rainforest where they encounter Jewel's father and find that their habitat is under threat while Blu and Jewel's old nemesis is out for revenge. While Rio was not a giant hit in America, its huge success overseas meant the production of Rio 2 was pretty much a no-brainer. 20th Century Fox hopes to repeat that success, at the very least, by releasing Rio 2 on the same weekend of April as they did with the first movie. They're also hoping they have another potential Ice Age on their hands. They have been able to make four Ice Age films over the past twelve years with the fourth film grossing over $800 million worldwide. It's doubtful that Rio 2 would be able to have that level of success, but stranger things have happened. Rio 2's voice cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, George Lopez, will.I.am, Tracy Morgan, Bruno Mars, Jamie Foxx, and Andy Garcia... in other words, the most random collection of celebrity voices that you will ever hear. With no Pixar movie coming out in 2014, can Rio 2 be a serious contender for highest grossing animated film of the year? U.S. Release Date: April 11th
