25 Greatest Easter Eggs From The Last 20 Years Of Horror

9. Bride Of Chucky

The reboot of the Child€™s Play series opens with a police officer wandering through the evidence locker, passing cages containing Leatherface€™s Chainsaw, Freddy€™s glove, and the masks of Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers. It sets the scene, hinting at not just the state of horror but that the realities of those serial killers might co-exist.

But there€™s another hidden sign in the murder of Officer Kincaid. Victim to an elaborate setup by Chucky, his face is penetrated by a blast of nails. The pint-sized terror asks €œNow why does that look so familiar?€ - because Kincaid looks like the infamous Cenobite Pinhead from the Hellraiser series.

The purpose of the scene isn€™t to throw in a meta reference for the sake of it. It settles the argument raised by fans the world over who€™ve debated for years who would win in a fight between Pinhead and Chucky. The web is filled with fan fiction dedicated to such a showdown, even extending to ideas for a game based on the possibility of two of horror€™s most loved icons duking it out.

As it€™s the stuff of fantasy to see them united onscreen, they got closure on it once and for all in this sneaky shot.
