17. Terminator Salvation (2009)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owrEMGg4x3M&feature=player_embedded McG isn't a very McGood director, and the idea of him taking on the Terminator franchise after the disappointing third entry seemed like bad news from the beginning. But this first trailed surprised many people, myself included, by looking not horrible. In fact, it actually looked really good. It turns out the movie is terrible and squanders whatever promise this showed, but this is still a great trailer. The visuals were sharp, Christian Bale and Sam Worthington looked solid, and Nine Inch Nails were used to great effect. So even though the movie failed, this didn't. 16. Superman Returns (2006)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5DMCd7hv1w When Bryan Singer was announced to make a Superman film, there was palpable excitement. He had made The Usual Suspects and two great X-Men films, so the idea of him taking on another superhero movie was great. This trailer furthered the excitement. It was filled with beautiful imagery and effectively used Marlon Brando's voiceover from the original Superman. There are so many well done shots in this trailer, from Clark falling towards the ground to Superman opening his eyes and bolting towards Earth. Sadly the finished product wasn't nearly as successful, but these two minutes stand alone as a great visualization of Superman.
