Directed by Stranger Things co-creator Shawn Levy, the upcoming action comedy Free Guy looks to be a return to the Night at the Museum director's family friendlier sci-fi fantasy roots.

Co-starring Stranger Things' Joe Keery, Free Guy tells the story of Guy, an NPC in a game which mashes up elements of Fortnite and GTA.

Locked into the same routine day in day out thanks to the game's code, Guy suddenly gains unexpected sentience and decides to save his in-game world in a flick which could either be a live-action Wreck It Ralph or a less pretentious and more fun remix of last year's Serenity, depending on the direction it takes.

One thing is for certain though, it'll be fun to see Reynolds return to his reliable everyman schtick after a few outings as snarky hero Deadpool.
