Hype: Until the exceptional, outrageous first trailer for Sausage Party hit the web, there was very little known about the latest project from Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. It just sounded a bit strange for the adult comedy pair to be releasing what seemed to be a Pixar competitor about animate food.
And then the trailer landed and everything changed: it quickly became a viral sensation thanks to the same gloriously ridiculous concept that meant it took Rogen 8 years to get it made.
