25 Most Hotly Anticipated Movies Of Summer 2016 - Ranked
4. The BFG

Release Date: July 1st
Billed As: Another Disney remake with an Oscar winning director, an Oscar winning lead actor and a Roald Dahl story. What's not to be enchanted by?
Hype: Steven Spielberg's magic wand turns to beloved Roald Dahl classic The BFG, which somehow got away with having a deeply sinsiter child abuction under-current and hid plainly rude words like Snozzcumber in plain sight. That sentence in itself should be enough to get you whizzpopping like the best.
The story - which was previously adapted for a deply beloved (and fiercely protected) feature length animation by ITV - is a glorious one: a weird buddy cop story of a vegetarian giant protecting his little "human bean" friend from his fellow (human eating) giants. It's as full of wonder as you'd expect from anything penned by Dahl, and his team up with Spielberg is the kind of union that dreams are made of.
Meanwhile, Mark Rylance couldn't be more perfectly cast as the BFG himself, and if the Academy liked motion caption performances, I'd be tempted to suggest he's an outlier for an Oscar.
