25 Movie Sequels That Will Kick Ass In 2018

21. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

Sequels 2018
Universal Pictures

Mamma Mia is very much one of the purest guilty pleasure movies of all time. It might not be great by any of the traditional high-art indicators but it's incredibly entertaining and it rightly made more than $600m worldwide. Dismiss it at your peril.

The inevitable but surprisingly belated sequel sees Amanda Seyfried's Sophie announce her pregnancy, prompting family friends Tanya and Rosie (and her three fathers) to tell the story of how Donna (Meryl Streep) coped with being young, single and pregnant. So flashbacks aplenty.

If you were a fan of the original - and there were lots more than might admit it publicly - you'll be in for the exact same sort of experience, with new songs (well unused ones from ABBA's back-catalogue anyway). And the even better news is that since it's at least partly a prequel, we won't get too much of Pierce Brosnan's singing this time.

Also, Cher is in it.

Release Date: July 20th
