3. The Dog Names

The franchise owes a lot to the names of pets: just as in the film Indiana gets his name from a dog, though in real life it came from Lucas's Alaskan Malamute, who also inspired Chewbacca, while Willie was named after Steven Spielberg's Cocker Spaniel, and Short Round was named after writer Willard Huyck's dog. In Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, the writers played on the trope by having Indy mock Mutt Williams' name.

The "chilled monkey-brains" that were presented as typical Indian cuisine - hence the outrage at its apparent racism - were created using custard and raspberry sauce, and interesting carried the following production note in an early version of the script:
