25 Things You Didn't Know About Ghostbusters

12. Bill Murray's Caddyshack Character Appears In A Cut Scene

He doesn’t get a credit, but believe it or not, Bill Murray's beloved Caddyshack character Carl Spackler actually makes a surprising cameo in Ghostbusters, at least it seems that way.

During a deleted scene, now available on the 35th anniversary Blu-Ray, Carl - or his identical NYC cousin - appears as one of two down and out chaps walking through Central Park discussing whether a heavyweight boxer or a "good karate guy" would win in a fight to the death.

The entire scene takes place during Louis Tully's pre-transformation sequence as he is pursued by the two Terror Dogs. It's not a surprise that it was removed from the final movie, as the pacing is off and even in its most basic, pre-edited form, it is clear that the scene just doesn't fit with the final product.
