Does anybody really remember the 2004 western Hidalgo starring Viggo Mortensen? Not really? Well, that film is apparently the reason why the actor wasn't able to appear in Christopher Nolan's superhero game changer Batman Begins in 2005. At the time it was being reported that the actor was the frontrunner to play Bruce Wayne's mentor and trainer, Ra's Al Ghul. The role would, of course, go to Liam Neeson. However, if you let Mortensen tell the story, he wasn't really involved at all. Im not signed up to do anything at this point, but I guess there was interest from them and other people. But at the moment Im not available because Im involved , he told Zap2it back in 2004.
