30 Perfect Horror Scenes Of The 2020s

9. Bodies Bodies Bodies - The Argument

Bodies Bodies Bodies is a bitingly brutal horror comedy in which a group of monumentally toxic, unlikable rich kids find themselves descending into paranoia and violence when trapped in one of their mansions during a hurricane. They start to be picked off one by one by a killer... or so it would seem.

It's a consistently punchy and entertaining watch with many smashing moments. Some might remember the ending twist - the first death was an accident and the night of carnage was for nothing - the most, but the movie's peak arguably comes a little earlier than that in the form of this exceptional argument scene, which shows Sarah DeLappe's angry, acidic screenplay at its very best.

Here, the remaining characters descend into a sharply-written war of words as they furiously berate and accuse each other, with all of their insecurities and toxic traits on full display. You could cut the tension with a knife and when Jordan (Myha'la) shoots Alice (Rachel Sennott) in a rage, this seemed like an inevitable release for years of pent-up resentment.
