33. Gregory Itzen

Gregory Itzen is one of the returning players in Star Trek. He was first cast in The Next Generation episode The Big Goodbye, but was then unable to take on the role - something he later admitted that he regretted. He would later appear in Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise, finally achieving the rank of Admiral, even if he had to travel to the Mirror Universe to get there.

He had a long career in television and stage acting, as well as appearing in several highly acclaimed films. He appeared in Airplane! and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, though he is probably best known for his Emmy-nominated role in 24, that of Vice-President, and later President, Charles Logan. He rose to become one of the major players in several seasons of the show, before stepping back, but returning as a guest star as the series progressed.

Itzen suffered a major heart attack in 2015, though this didn't prevent him from continuing to work. He died at age 74, following complications from emergency surgery.
