4 Reasons Why The Avengers is The Greatest Comic Book Movie Ever

3. The Writing

I encourage everyone to re-watch this film, if only for the nuances in the writing! Great detail was made when putting the dialogue together. Some minor examples would include Loki acknowledging that he€™s aware of Captain America by saying €œah yes, the soldier€ when they meet, meaning Loki has been keenly watching his brothers protected realm as he makes his own plans to take over. The writers also even take a brief moment to explain how Thor got to Earth this time around, having Loki mention just how much magic did the All Father have to conjure to send Thor to Earth, a nice footnote given that the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed at the end of Thor€™s film. And there are many other references to the Marvel character films that led to this big outing, from Iron Man having new armor to Banner even acknowledging the last time he was in New York, he destroyed Harlem. And speaking of the Hulk, the writers are absolutely on point with this character, finally portraying him as the terrifying monster that he actually is, in the scene where he changes inside the HeliCarrier and nearly kills the Black Widow. This scene is meant to be shocking, and it is just that. The Hulk explodes with a ferocity that has not yet been seen in his other films; a credit to the writers and director Joss Whedon for treating The Hulk like the beast he actually is.
