For many people, the only thing you need to know about First Man is that it's Damien Chazelle's next film. The gifted directing prodigy has already dominated two Oscar ceremonies with Whiplash and La La Land (which should have won Best Picture, don't fight me), and he's now moving away from music and taking aim at the life of Neil Armstrong.

The film is based on the blistering book of the same name by James Hansen telling the story of NASA's mission to get man to the moon as a first person account of Armstrong's life from 1961-69. Naturally, Ryan Gosling will play Armstrong, and excitingly, it's being scripted by Spotlight's Oscar-winning writer Josh Singer.

So lots of reasons to want October 2018 to come quickly.

Release Date: October 12th
