40 Movies That Will Kick-Ass In 2018
33. Robin Hood
Does anyone really need another take on the Robin Hood story? It's been told so often it's almost passed beyond cliche - but a lot of that is down to how entertaining it is. Particularly as the capitalist flag still flies high above the world's most powerful governments today.
Anyway, all politicising aside, the new adaptation sees Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst back in the features director's chair after almost a decade out (after the excellent Margot). He's got hot young thing Taron Egerton in as his Hood, and Jamie Foxx as his Little John, which is an interesting new direction.
The rest of the cast is just as interesting, with Jamie Dornan playing Will Scarlet, The Knick's Eve Hewson as his WIFE Marian (no Maid here), Ben Mendehlson as the villain and irrepressible comedian Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck. Peaky Blinders' Paul Anderson is also involved, which is a good thing, as he's brilliant and deserves more work.
