4. Nobody Does It Better: (The Spy Who Loved Me)
http://youtu.be/Wy-c8aAntWA This is another example of a good song that doesnt mesh well with 007. This song is a classic, but unlike Live and Let Die, its easy to forget that this song is even associated with the movie franchise. This could be because it was the first Bond song to be titled something other than the title of the movie. Composed by Marvin Hamlisch, written by Carole Bayer Sager, this is a torch song to Jamesy (as she probably calls him), but not the spurned Diamonds are Forever kind. Our singer loves James. She hates how much she loves him, but thats what makes her love him more! This song is just too damn nice. Its Carly Simon doing her thing. Element of Danger: 0 Not a lick of danger on the horizon. The Ladies: +2 We have a lovely female singer, and shes singing about her love for our hero, but the sex is conspicuously missing. Cool Factor: +4 This song is not super cool.
