2. Goldfinger
A fan favourite as is the film itself - and in the eyes of many, he should be in the #1 spot, Auric Goldfinger was a perfect combination of player and part, making a household name out of German actor Gert Frobe, who the producers picked after seeing his scintillatingly creepy performance as a child molester in the film It Happened In Broad Daylight. Despite not speaking particularly good English and therefore having his lines dubbed Goldfinger proved to be one of the most faithful adherences to Flemings novel, with the various mannerisms and tics fitting in nicely with what the author intended. His villainy causing some of the entire series most iconic moments, such as having Jill Masterson be painted completely gold, or spout the immortal line to Bond, No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!. Goldfinger is a prime example of all the pieces working in unison splendidly; actor, script and director.
