5 Comic Book Movie Villains Who You Actually Felt Sorry For

1. The Joker - The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight Wait, what? The symbol of all that is evil can be felt sympathy for? The man who seems to have no redemption, could make an audience feel sorry for him? The cold hard truth is, yes. Now this can be a controversial choice for the top spot of sympathetic characters, but looking at this from a psychiatrists point of view, in order for The Joker to become the evil person he is today, it is clear he must have a messed up childhood to the extreme, to the point where he saw no value in the lives of others, and not even himself. Yes, some may call it evil, I call it tragic. No person in this world is born evil, society turns good people into evil. Whilst we never know the true story of how the Joker got his scars, or why he does what he does, the viewers interpretation can make us feel sorry for him. The average movie goer would just see him as an evil villain. Think logically, in order for you to feel zero empathy for anyone in the world including yourself, whilst it is not revealed truly in the movie, something really bad must have happened to this character. It can be argued he is simply insane, but symptoms of insanity do not just appear, they have to be manifested from somewhere, and for The Joker, that means he must have had alot. So what comic book villains do you feel sorry for that you feel I should have included? Whatever your thoughts, comment below.
