The pomp and self-importance of awards season - especially in regards to the Oscars - can become a little draining when all is said and done. By the time February rolls around and we finally see that the film predicted to scoop the Best Picture gong actually does, indeed, pick up the gong (fancy that) we're just relieved for it all to be finally over. That's why the Golden Raspberry Awards exist. They are an antidote to the all the sincerity and self-aggrandising of Hollywood, and also a very public forum for filmmakers to be shone under a light and brought to trial to attest for their cinematic crimes. No one ever sets out to make a bad movie, really, but there are definitely those who half-ass it, or are simply so delusional that they think what they're creating is actually good. Although the Razzies are largely a tongue-in-cheek affair, there are some films that occasionally get unfairly swept up in the tornado of negativity. Some films are easy targets, having already been piled on by the press and the denizens of internet message boards. Some films carry baggage, being guilty by association with one particular actor or director. Ironically, just like the Oscars, some nominations are even politically motivated. With all that in mind, let's take a look at some of the films which don't necessarily warrant the bad reputation now ascribed to them after being nominated for a Razzie.
