3. Rambo
Right Wing? Rambo's main themes were those of the Vietnam War and the way returning vets were treated by a liberal and disenfranchised culture. In First Blood, Rambo has to fight almost an entire community that villainizes him for what he represents. Rambo would then go on to win the entire Vietnam War for the War Hawk right wing public in his second feature outing which was a pure right wing fantasy film. He even mutters to his commanding officer in the film: "Do we get to win this time?" Years later in Rambo, John Rambo practically laughs in the face of peaceful liberal doctors coming to a third world country to help a suffering people there. "Are you bring any guns?" asks Rambo. "No," they respond. "Then you're not helping." It was a total vindication of conservative militarism and their theory with dealing with violent evil: give 'em violence right back. Rambo does.
Anymore? Again, Stallone sold Rambo as the final John Rambo feature but he has changed his tune since. There have been countless rumors about plot for the fifth outing, which Stallone says will be the last and may include Rambo's death.
