4. The Johnny Depp Star Vehicle
Oh Johnny, where did it all go wrong? In a way, Pirates Of The Caribbean was the worst thing that could have happened to him, where he made the transition from quirky character actor to a movie star who gets paid insane money for dressing up and putting on silly voices. He was allowed to get away with this for far too long, and its only recently started to bite down hard. The Lone Ranger was one white face paint/silly voice role too far and was a major bomb, Transcendence put the few people who saw it to sleep and therapy hotlines were set up after Mordecai. Trailers for new Johnny Depp movies are usually greeted with weary groans, and while he clawed back a tiny bit of cred with Black Mass, hes doubling down on his usual shtick with Alice Through The Looking Glass and Pirates Of The Caribbean 5; good things aren't exactly expected.
