5 Great British & Irish Comedy Films You Probably Missed

2. Stitches

The off-the-cuff, improvisational comedian, Ross Noble was a perfect choice as the antagonist for Conor McMahon and David O'Brien's 2012 frightfully funny, comedy-horror Stitches.

The role of the rampant, murderous clown was very fitting for Noble, given the international man of comedy's history of street juggling, uni-cycling and his participation as part of a clown troupe before his stand up career took off.

Stitches comes back from the dead to seek revenge on a group of teenagers who played a factor in his death years prior.

Noble puts his clowning skills to good use and is prominent in the film's signature and frightfully funny, gory deaths. One such fatality involves one of the teenager's intestines, a bicycle pump and an exploding head.

Tommy Knight and Gemma-Leah Devereux are paired together, who along with Noble, made their feature film debuts as the leading roles.

The film was not a box office draw but was awarded by Fright-Fest and the Catalan Film Festival for its aforementioned, creative, on-screen deaths.
