5 Johnny Depp Movies To Watch Instead Of The Lone Ranger

2. Edward Scissorhands - 1990a Tim Burton Edward Scissorhands DVD Revierw Johnny Depp PDVD_002 This is without a doubt the movie that made Johnny Depp. It is the movie that made Hollywood take notice of Depp and it is the movie that is the most overrated of his whole body of work. Yet, if you have not seen it then you must track it down. After all, there's a reason people think it's so outstanding. The very first Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration remains one of their best over 20 years later. The film has elements that you will see used over and over again when these two work together. Edward Scissorhands is a modern take on Frankenstein but with a more emotional touch and a wider appeal. Depp plays an artificial boy whose inventor is killed before he can give his creation hands, he is then adopted by a local family until the town turns on him as they come to see him as a monster. Depp€™s sweet and naïve portrayal of Edward will melt even the most icy of hearts, and Edward Scissorhands serves as one of the most iconic movie of the 90's, thanks to the twisted mind of Tim Burton who creates a surreal vision of Suburbia, the trademark heavy white makeup and of course the blades for hands that we all now associate with these two men.
