5 More Toys Of 1980's That Should Be Made Into Movies

1. Dino-Riders

€œHarness the power of Dinosaurs!€

The Dino-Rider toys were created by Tyco and were based on the cartoon show of the same name that aired in 1988. Some of more popular dinosaurs in the series were the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Diplodocus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and the flying Quetzalcoatlus and Pteranodons. Each purchase came with the dinosaur itself as well as the accompanying action figure of the Valorian (good guy) or the Rulon (bad guy) character that was associated with that dinosaur on the show. Each dinosaur came with its specified armor and weaponry. If it was Rulon dinosaur, it also came with the €œbrain box€ used by the Rulon€™s to mentally control the dinosaur. If the success of the €œJurassic Park€ movie franchise has proven anything it is this: people love dinosaurs! It also proved that the special effects needed to make the prehistoric creatures come to life and interact with humans on the big screen are easily attainable. Also, the last €œJurassic Park€ film hit theaters in 2001. Plenty of time has passed between dinosaur movies that a live action Dino-Rider movie could be an epic one if done correctly. It would be able to combine the realistic dinosaur features of the original €œJurassic Park€ movies with the sci-fi and laser gun fighting of the new €œStar Wars€ trilogy. The best possible feature film based on this toy would be a live action retelling of the first episode of the cartoon series, as it gives the proper introduction to the different characters and concepts. The Valorians were a peaceful race of humans. As their ship was fleeing the attack of the evil Rulons, they attempted to use their Space Time Energy Projector (S.T.E.P) to escape. As the S.T.E.P crystal was being activated the Rulons locked onto the Valorian ship using a tractor-beam and were dragged through time and space to prehistoric earth with the Valorians. After discovering where and when they had crashed, the Valorians used their telepathic abilities to communicate with and befriend the local dinosaurs. With the help of their new friends, they began the difficult task of building a new home on Earth. Meanwhile the Rulons and their leader Lord Krulos realized that their only hope of returning home was to locate the Valorians and steal the S.T.E.P. crystal. To help them with this task, they began rounding up and capturing as many dinosaurs as they could. Unlike the Valorians, the Rulons had no telepathic ability or the patience to befriend the dinosaurs. Instead they created and built €œbrain boxes€ that allowed them to control the minds of the dinosaurs. They also added heavy armor and advanced weaponry to each of the dinosaurs to aid in the attack on the Valorians. Fortunately the Valorians discovered that the Rulons had been sent back to prehistoric Earth with them and were creating a dinosaur army before it was too late. The Valorians quickly responded by creating armor and weapons for their dinosaur friends as well. Soon after that the Rulons attacked and an epic battle occurred. Upon defeating the attacking Rulons, Questar, the leader of the Valorians, declared that they would from this day forth be known as the Dino-Riders! Just imagine this picture as a movie poster. Enough said.
