5 Most Controversial Moments In Quentin Tarantino Movies

4. "I Think I Shot Marvin..."

gun shot

While Travolta's Vincent Vega and Samuel L. Jackson's Jules are having a typical conversation involving bullets and God while their friend Marvin sits in the back, Tarantino was planning one of his most surprising and shocking moments to date that really feeds into the notion that you should always treat a gun like it's loaded... especially if it's loaded. As Vega turns to the back of the automobile to ask Marvin his opinion of the conversation at hand, he forgets where he is pointing is weapon and... BOOM! There goes Marvin and the interior of Jules' car. Blood everywhere and one seemingly undeserving character down. The moment was controversial not just for its surprising nature but because it was an accidental death that touched on being humorous. In fact, it was humorous! "I think I shot Marvin in the face, man..." As we laugh it up one can't help but feel a little sit seeing Marvin laying there with no head and blood and skull littering the car. It was typical over the top violence for a Tarantino film, but it also goes to further prove that Tarantino makes sure his characters and the violent fantastical worlds he presents are true to reality in some respects. Accidents do in fact happen and guns, when not handled properly, can shoot bullets that make heads explode. It was a lesson delivered in a typical of Tarantino funny and over the top fashion from one of the greatest films of the '90s.
