Even in the magical world of Hogwarts and flying broomsticks, it seems implausible that Harry Potter and his adolescent gang of merry men could stand up and defeat the venomous wrath of Lord Voldemort and his demonic Death Eaters. But that's what they did, and even someone as gormless as Neville Longbottom triumphs over evil despite barely knowing where his elbow is. The Harry Potter series and its eponymous character are much loved and for good reason, it's a great fantasy tale that sees the underdog win over through adversity, and everyone seems to love an underdog story. But the sad reality is that teenagers very rarely win, least of all against the most fearsome wizards in existence who have vanquished every little bit of opposition that has stood before them.
