5 Surprising Cinematic Universes (And 5 Which Never Got Off The Ground)

One of the most unexpected proposed cinematic universes, a planned crossover between 21 Jump Street and Men In Black was discovered following the Sony Pictures Hack of 2014.

The highly-successful 21 Jump Street stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as two undercover cops who infiltrate a high school with hilarious results. On the other hand, Men in Black, which stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, focuses on a secret organization who investigate aliens living on Earth.

While both films have been commercial and critical hits, the two properties have little else in common. Regardless, a proposed crossover has been in the works for years. Since 2014, however, there has not been much news regarding the so-called MIB 23, and the project appears to have stalled indefinitely.

Though this crossover would certainly be ambitious and radical, the project has not really evolved since 2014 and it remains unclear how such a crossover film would work. Although the 21 Jump Street series does rely on some really fun, absurdist humour, we are not quite sure how aliens would figure into the franchise's established universe.

Regardless, we are still holding out hope that one day audiences will get to see MIB 23.
