3. Toyman
Like the Prankster, it seems insane that Toyman ever presented as a threat to Superman and he just wouldn't work in a movie. The alter-ego of Winslow Percival Schott, Toyman was a child genius and had been toy-obsessed since a very young age. He invented his first toy as a child - a toy aeroplane that he painted red and blue - which was stolen from him by an older boy, which had quite the long-term effect on him. As an adult, Schott created some of the most amazing toys ever conceived, which earned him world renown and acclaim. However, Lex Luthor's LexCorp acquired his toy company and left him jobless. Angered by LexCorp's use of his toys for military purposes, he became the supervillain Toyman, with the initial aim of seeking revenge on Lex Luthor. Several attempts to assassinate Luthor brought him in to conflict with Superman (ironic, given that Luthor is Superman's arch-enemy) and he started to focus his anger towards the Man of Steel. While the Luthor/Toyman/Superman story is an interesting one, this is one villain whose silly gadgetry is best left to the comics.
