5 Ways The DCEU Should Continue After The Suicide Squad

2. Make Use Of The Multiverse

While Marvel finally seems to be taking their leap of faith into multiverse territory, DC has been comfortably swimming in the waters for a while now. We have seen Barry Allen of the DCEU come across The CW iteration of Flash in a crossover episode, as well as untold other crossovers between DC characters on TV.

The DCEU could and should make use of this concept to shape their universe the way that directors and writers see fit, and to remove the boundaries created by maintaining continuity. This would open up the opportunities for director's cuts of previous movies where we don't necessarily have to bother about fitting them into the current canon.

They can easily sit outside of the canon set in a parallel timeline, and it would also enable WB to revisit previous series such as The Dark Knight trilogy, much like they are looking to do by including 1989's Michael Keaton Batman next year in The Flash.
