5 Ways The DCEU Should Continue After The Suicide Squad

3. Introduce Lesser Known Characters

Part of what has made the MCU successful is the limitations the franchise suffered from the start. Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four - three of Marvel's most popular IPs had their movie rights locked away with other studios.

This meant that Marvel had to kickstart their brand new experiment with a character mainstream audiences weren't familiar with: Iron Man.

Using a lesser-known character fundamentally removes the pressure that comes with the spotlight being cast on big names and allows you to flesh out the character's story for the first time ever.

Batman's origin for example has been covered a multitude of times and as a result, there is a pressure to present the character in a never-before-seen light, whereas with Iron Man, Marvel had the opportunity to establish a character with his own history intertwined with the lore of the universe, as we saw play out in Captain America: Civil War eight years later.
