50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2015 - Ranked

8. Mission: Impossible 5

Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie reunites with Tom Cruise for the inevitable fifth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise after Brad Bird reconfigured it so brilliantly in 2011. Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) has written the movie, and though little is known about it yet, Sean Harris has been confirmed as the villain, while after largely sitting out Ghost Protocol, Ving Rhames will be reprising his role as Luther Stickell in a more significant capacity. Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are also back once again, while Alec Baldwin joins the mix in what will hopefully be a role as one of Ethan's irascible stuffed shirt superiors (think The Departed Baldwin, but PG-13). Filming took place mostly in London with a few stops in Austria and Morocco, and though the pic will struggle to live up to the series-best that was Ghost Protocol, there's a good chance it could out-do the mixed-to-average second and third films.
